The only suggestion I can give is color/story based. You know when certain animals [of the sea] are threatened, their colors change something vibrant? I was thinking in "battle mode" or something, the lines in the craft (if that's what it is) could change from subtle black/gray/purple/etc. to bright glowing blue or red against a sleek color, something dark (maybe not black). I dunno, your the artist, I just thought that would be cool.
Another idea, if its biomechanical in any sense, is a squid-like seeking missile bursting into acid when in contact/general area of the target.
I absolutely would not approach this ship from below or the sides.
What is the purpose of the red globes? The starfighter pilot / light cap ship commander in me says shoot those first. Typically I like to see the bridge buried deep within the ship and the sensors on the surface redundant and distributed.
